The awesome Company EyeBuyDirect let me review a pair of specs for you lovely lot! Of course my first search was for Cateye frames as you all know I can't get enough of the sexy sleek shape of glasses. I was really impressed with how many cateye frames they had in stock! They have a wonderful selection of vintage and modern styles. I choose this super sexy navy pair with glitter circle details for a bit of extra bling. My order arrived within 5!!! Yes I said 5 days!!! It came well packaged and with hard case and large cleaning cloth.


Ordering was very easy. As with all online glasses orders you will need an up to date prescription and your pupillary distance (the learn section on the website gives all the info you need to measure yours).

I chose standard lenses for my prescription but they also do bifocal and progressive lenses. You can also choose the thickness of your lenses for a lighter overall frame. You can add tinted or polarized lenses easily. The website is very easy to navigate and find what you are looking for.



They also do Party Glasses! Now if you are like me you might not have heard of such a thing. It is the placing of a genuine Swarovski Crystal on the lense for added sparkle and bling! How cool is that!!! There is a discount code section at the bottom of the website for up to date deals so check it out before ordering and you could make a good saving.


Prices are in US Dollars from as little as $6 - $60 plus Postage is a little more to the UK but factor in the saving compared to high street prices and you really are making a huge saving on quality sturdy frames and lenses. The conversion rate easily googled but for these frames costing $39.95 and $19 shipping the UK rates are about £23.81 and £11.32 shipping. A total of around £35.00 for complete prescription glasses is a brilliant price that everyone can afford. Make extra savings and buy more than one pair to save on postage costs.

All Dressed Up & Nowhere To Go

A while back the lovely Em of Terrible Tumbles described my style as "ever stunning and never knowingly underdressed"which is pretty much spot on! I dress up even when I am not leaving the house. I do have my pj days like most people do but I tend to feel better when I make a little effort even if I don't brush my hair or put on make up I instantly feel better in a dress or nice top and skirt.

I ordered this Glassesporn print to from Modcloth quite a while ago but then realised once it arrived that I had nothing to wear it with. It sat unworn but loved in my wardrobe until I found this black midi on Asos and figured it would be a good staple for my wardrobe plus it has an elastic waist. So here is my first outfit with this top! I blinged it up with my Primark necklace and of course some Cateye Glasses.

My Modcloth experience was pretty good! USA sizes always have me a bit confused but looking at the size chart I ordered the 4x and it is actually very roomy and is a stretchy material but think I would need the 4x in non stretch items. I ordered the top in the sale for $9.99 reduced from $32.99 and postage was about the same again but as it was under £20 I did not have to pay import tax. I am always put off by charges when ordering form outside the UK. Saying that I did just order 2 dresses from Modcloth and waiting to see how much I will be charged. The orders usually take 2 weeks to arrive.

I Heart Lolita

I came across Janine Basil and her amazing patch creations on instagram and fell in love with her glassesporn hair clips. You can also have them made as brooches. I ordered 3 of the 5 different glasses styles and they arrived like this wrapped so cute! These are no longer on her site but if you want them Janine is happy to make them for you so just ask.

I have had this dress for a while and bought it when I was smaller just after having Franklin. Basically being house bound for 5 months since Franklin was on oxygen I have put on all the weight I lost and more! The dress is a bit tighter around my belly but I can still rock the VBO and do love the shape of this dress. Red accessories seem to be my thing just now which is fine by me!

American Road Trip

A bit late for 4th of July but my love for all things American never fades! I have spent quite a lot of time in Detroit mainly but have travelled about the East coast and would love to do the Route 66 adventure in the future. I also have a major love for tiny and oversized things so this dress screamed BUY ME! I especially love the dinosaur on it. This is one of 4 Modcloth dresses I own now and I have 3 different styles.

Out of all of them this style is the smallest over my bust. So much so I had to cut a little stitch that was holding the crossover together to make it fit! This is why I am wearing a vest under it to cover my bra from showing too much. I have bough all 4x and find it to be about a size 24/26. (measurements at bottom) Every dress I have from Modcloth has pockets which is a great bonus feature. They all also have a zip up the back which I have never used as I just slip them on over my head. Arm holes are on the large size and bra shows but they are wide enough shoulder straps to cover bar straps. The length of this is lovely and it has a black lining to puff it out a bit. I am short at a 5'3'' so keep that in mind when looking at the length.

I saw this cute bag and thought it went perfectly with the Route 66 theme. Love me some heart shaped glasses and these are cheapos from ebay.

Ok down to costs. It is worth buying in the sales and also buying more than one item as postage to the UK is around £20 and on top of that you could be charged import tax. Import tax for an order of around (£100 inc postage) can be £30 which includes an £8 post office charge. This is why I have pit off ordering from Modcloth for so long! Try doing a group order with friends and splitting the charges. Buying sale items offsets the charges.

Or you could comment with an unregistered (no account already on modcloth) email address and get $20 off until 17th July when you spend over $50! Think of it as free postage to UK or USA customers get actual money off their order!

Pie In The Sky

Hello Pie Lovers! I saw this dress a year ago on tumblr and had no idea where it was from. When I found out it was from Modcloth I went to see what sizes were available. I was surprised and happy that it went up to a 4x. I checked out the reviews and size chart and figured I should at least give it a try since I loved it so much. I was over the moon when the buttons fit over my boobs and I could actually wear this dreamy dress! My only problem with it is the lining is small and tight over my belly when sitting but I can easily cut it out or just put up with it. It makes me feel like a 1950s house wife and could be straight out of an episode of Mad Men! I also reminds me of a wonderful movie called Waitress where the girl thinks up all these amazing recipes for Pies and makes them.

The print has a lot going on so I kept it simple with a big pearl necklace, lemon slice bag, green heels and another of my Janine Basil Dame Edna Glasses hair clips but this time worn as a brooch.

As with all orders to the UK from the USA postage is around £20 plus Duty can be charged. For my order of £100 I was charged £30 Duty. You have to factor in the extra costs.

Hamburger Fries & Shake

This outfit is inspired by the lovely drawing Danielle Laurenti posted on instagram a while ago and the amazing Fitty Smallz and music video which this post is named after {video at the end) and also Ricky Danielswho draw my dream a few years ago!

I love all things American and my dream is to open an American Drive In Diner and have fat lady waitresses on Roller Skates! If I win the lotto then this WILL happen!

The dress is from Modcloth and fits my bust easily. Super length on me (5'3'') and a belt that fits and is not just for show! (pet peeve about plus outfits with belts). It also has pockets! This is one of the roomier dresses I have had from Modcloth. I would say it is a UK 26/28 and fits a large bust. Dress of dreams right here!

This is also my first blog post since the hair chop and dye. Have to say I am loving it. I may stay short for quite some time. Sorry about the frown but it was sunny and I should have been wearing sunglasses.

This is a little Matalan purchase. I have to say that their plus range (size 24+) is pretty rubbish for the young and fashionable types. It is defo more basics and aimed at the older shopper. I was surprised to see this cute heart print dress onsale for £11 so snapped it up and although it is a great shape and style the fabric lets it down. After one wash it was bobbled pretty bad under the arms. Come on Matalan! Get with the programme! We fat people want cute, fun, affordable fatshion that is also good quality.

Anyways enough with the rant and on to the outfit. I love red and blue and thought this was a super cute look with the red skinny belt and my old Firmoo prescription sunglasses.

Junk Food Dream Dress

This post is what I wore out on one of the hottest melty sweaty days last week! no make up as it would have slid off my face and sporting my new iclickoptical cateye prescription sunglasses. The are super retro and I loved them so much that I ordered them in pink too!



My feet have been swollen with all this heat and I can only get flip flops or birkenstocks on so here are my fat feet in Birks for your viewing pleasure! lol!!!

 I saw a skirt of this print a few years ago in a shop in Manchester and have hunted for a dress in my size ever since. When I saw Modcloth did a 4x I had to order is and see if it fit. This is what started my recent love affair with Modcloth as you will have seen from my last few posts.

I have included a blurry bathroom selfie of how I dressed up date night to see Transformers 4 a few weeks ago. (pre haircut) It is safe to say that this is my dream print dress and it has pockets!

Turning Japanese

The Kimono has been around for hundreds of years as traditional Japanese dress but in recent times it has been made more wearable and fashionable. Everyone in the fashion magazines have one and it has been full embraced this summer by fashionista! I am a little late to the kimono party. I had looked at one last year and thought it was something I would have worn back when I was unhappy about my fat and only wore things to try to hide my lumps and bumps. Saying that I was looking for something light I could throw on in the summer evenings that would still be stylish and came to the conclusion that the kimono is the perfect item for this. (like i said, a little late to the party!)

I saw this one on Asos and loved that it had flowers and polka dots and was a stretch fabric rather than a blouse fabric. I then realised I have nothing to wear with it! I am a lady who has all the patterns and no plain tops so of course I had to get some of them too. What started my Asos haul was these leggings. They are supposed to be cropped but as I am tiny I figured these would be the perfect full length on me. They are the softest, most comfortable and stretchy leggings I have ever had on my body and honestly it feels like I am not wearing anything!

How cooool are these glasses!!! You saw my black ones in the previous post and got these ones as glasses rather than sunglasses. I am in love! They go perfectly with the colours in the kimono. Mod Dots

Another Modcloth dress for you all! Another sale item! I loved the look of this on the site but was not sure about the fabric. It is a woven fabric so is more suited to this Autumn rainy days we are having as it is quite thick and also has a little stretch to it. I really liked the polka dot detail at the bottom of the skirt. I have not seen anything like this in plus size before.

Due to my huge bust (42jj I got measured recently) the dress comes up under my bust but this is actually where I like things to sit on me. Just something to remember when ordering dresses I review.

The length is also good on me but my friend Abbie tried on a few of my Modcloth dresses and they all came up short on her. She is 6ft tall and I am a tiny 5'3''

I am finding Modcloth to be very random in sizing! As all their items are made by different brands and sold through Modcloth they all have different ideas on 4x. I will provide measurements for all my items reviewed from Modcloth to help.

I stuck with a navy theme and wore my EyeBuyDirect Cateye glasses, navy leggings as it was quite chilly and navy shoes.

Ahead Of The Curve

I am sad to say that Autumn has come early to the UK but it also means exciting new collections from our favourite fashion brands! The warm rich colours and chunky knits we all love to encase ourselves in when the its cold outside.

Given the chance to have a sneaky peek at the Asos Curve Autumn/Winter 2014 collection I thought I would share my favourite pieces and do my first Autumn outfit post of the season.

I love the vintage look to this midi dress which has a William Morris feel to it with the print. The colours go with my newly dyed hair and I feel rather grown up in this outfit. It is silly to say that since I am 34 and have a baby but I tend to dress like a child most of the time. I go for fun novelty prints and colours.

The back cutout detail is fun and the colours made this dress a must for my maybe too young wardrobe. It is a thin material with no stretch so sized up. the length is longer on me as I am a shortie but I like it. The sleeves are also a little longer but is a nice change. I can see me wearing this with a thick furry cardigan and boots on the colder days this winter and also breaking it out in the Summer months too.

The lovely people over at Elvi sent me this gorgeous jacket to review but sadly my arms were to fat for it so I asked my beautiful non blogger friend Abbi if she would like to model for me and let me be stylist and photographer for the day. I think Abbi did a marvelous job and looks amazing!

The jacket is a waterfall front style with zip detail. It feels really good quality and is fully lined. This is a size 26 and I would say it is small made but if the sleeves had not been tight on me I would have worn it anyway. Abbie is a size 22 and 5'11'' tall.

I chose to keep this outfit simple and it would be perfect for any Saturday night out or even a wedding! Letterbox Cake By Bakerdays

Did you know you can get Cake delivered to your door?!?!? This was a revelation to me! What a great idea! Send a friend or family member a personalised cake/photo cake for a special occasion or just to let them know you are thinking of them! Bakerdays are the brilliant bakers of such cakes and I was given the chance to order a Letterbox cake of my choice to review. Letterbox cake is just as you would think it is. It fits through a letterbox!


I checkout out @Bakerdays Instagram for ideas from the many many photos added by customers using the #bakerdays and #letterboxcake hashtag. I then headed to their website to make my perfect cake!


After choosing the Letterbox size I got to pick my cake flavour and I was pleasantly surprised that they offer Gluten, Wheat & Dairy Free options.


I chose a photo I wanted to put on the cake instead of one of their many designs featured on the site and waited for my cake to arrive. You can get any picture you want on the cake. Just upload it and they will make it fit.


The exciting day when my cake arrived! It actually did fit through the letterbox and was in one piece due to the way the cakes are iced.


It came in a lovely presentation box with added balloons, gift card and party whistle which can be added to your order for a little celebration gift set.


Bakerdays really have thought of everything! the little detail of how to get your cake out of the tin with ease was a lovely touch.


The cake includes ingredients printed on the back for those who need to know. The cakes will keep for 2 weeks unopened so you can order in advance and know that it will still be as good as the day it was baked.

Plus North 2014 - Saturday Day

It finally came! Plus North! I waited a year for this weekend. This was the third Plus North Event and I have attended all three. It never fails to impress with how many brands and people come out to support this Plus Size focused event. Everyone is welcome but it aimed at Plus Size ladies who like fashion. I headed to Leeds by train with friends Abbie and Philipa. Sadly I was too busy this year modelling for Topsy Curvy and Evans and running around like a headless chicken to see everything that I forgot to take photos so this is pulled together with recreated outfit photos and borrowed photos from other people. I wore one of my many amazing Modcloth dresses. This one is a lovely mustard colour and goes well with my newly dye hair. I am unsure if this dress is still available as it was in the sale and only 4x left when I ordered.

Plus North 2014 - Saturday Night

This is my Plus North evening outfit recreated as the lighting was not that great for photos at the venue or my phone was just being rubbish. I got this dress after Christmas in the Simply Be sale and this was its first outing! I knew I wanted to keep it for something special and Plus North is VERY SPECIAL!!! I was given this AMAZING necklace by FollowRayOnline. They have an incredible range of sparkle and bling necklaces! Another Post to follow just about these necklaces! I chose this one because it has so many colours and would go with any other accessories I chose for an outfit. It is a true statement necklace and just what I wanted for this outfit.

Plus North 2014 - Sunday Swap

Sunday was Clothes Swap day. It was a lovely sunny and warm day in Leeds and I wore this flower print dress I got from Modcloth in a recent sale (sold out)

I have been having major bra problems and have been living with only one good bra for well over a month now! I got fitted by the lovely ladies at the Curvy Kate stall and found out I can actually get bras from them and I am a 42K in their brand. Sadly they had sold out on the Saturday of my size and Simply Be website has too. I am waiting for a new one to become available so I can buy 10! hahaha!

I realise I have not said anything about the brands in these posts and having no photos of the day has made if difficult but I have been impressed by the coverage of the Event by BGP Magazine so urge you to read their 3 posts on the days events!

Fluff & Flowers

With so many lovely summer items in the sales and filling our wardrobes it is easy to Winter them up with a cardigan to keep the wind and chill at bay! I bought this beautiful dress I had been coveting for a while in the Yours Clothing sale and got this amazing super soft and fluffy eyelash knit cardi in Burgundy (available in 4 colour choices) and think it is a great Autumn/Winter outfit! I love a skater dress. 
I decided to size up in the cardi to a 30/32 for an oversized look and to allow for shrinkage in the wash. The cardi has pockets and is a good longer length to keep the bum warm. The colour was what caught my eye as I love an eyelash knit for its snug and cozy warmth. I basically live in these cardigans all winter. They dont have the scratchy itch of normal cardigans so its a win win.

Well here is something rather special for you all. I love me some sequins and loved all the Mermaid sequin dresses that were available last year but sadly missed out on one. To my complete delight the new Claire Richards range for Fashion World featured this beauty! This Mermaid shall go to the Under The Sea Dance! 

The dress has a lovely wide v-neck and back. The longer sleeves and length are a nice touch for this winter wonder. There is a slight stretch to the fabric and lining and has no zip so it is a slip over the head affair which I love.

This dress does not need anything fancy added to make it shine but I went all out BLING and added my FollowRayOnline necklace. For a bit of fun I added my Hamburger clutch and vintage cateye glasses.

Goonie For Life

I have a few pieces by Bete Noire including my custom red double heart necklace that says "Frankie Baby" and I had thought about getting a Goonies inspired necklace for some time. I sent Bete a few reference pictures and came up with this idea. I have to say it turned out even more awesome than I thought it could be! The first heart based on the design of Chunks Hawaiian shirt, the second with the treasure map detail. The Copper Bones Skull Key on the bottom and a pearl necklace like the one Mouth hides in his mouth but Mama Fratelli finds and pulls out.

Bete does the best custom orders! I have seen a Back To The Future, Clueless, True Romance and lots of others. Check out her Instagram for photos!
